Plumbing and Lighting, oh my.

There hasn't been a lot to photograph for the last few days. Much has been behind the scenes - plumbing, electrical, etc. so not a lot of photo ops as you can see from below.

We have three redheads with beards working the job. Phil just told me that blue eyed, red heads are the rarest color combination in people (Phil is one).

A few plumbing photos .....

I'm not sure I mentioned it earlier, but the cabinet on the porch was defective. There were two depressions/indentations/mistakes on the right panel above the door. It turns out that Joel - whoever he is because we never heard of him before - is responsible for that piece. Next trip down, and the panel is gone. That's all we know about that.

Suddenly there is a flurry of activity.

The fans are installed -

The porch

The main room

The study

Our room

 and the guest room

and we have the back splash & mosaic in the kitchen.
Here they were getting the mosaic ready. What doesn't show in the photo is the dark squares are sort of metallic. It looks great in good light.

John and Billy (or Jimmy), the tile installers.

John is a perfectionist. It is Exactly on center.

The grouters - every one is a specialist. We're so glad we decided on the dark grout.

The entrance light is a bad choice - too small, too high, too boring.

My light kit turned out to be perfect in our bathroom - at least in my opinion. It adds a bit of "girly" to  Jeff's "guy" bathroom.

The dining area light - hard to say how it will look with the glass table, but it seems good so far.

The lights on the garage - not a great photo because it was raining quite hard. The electricians will put up the outdoor entrance light on Wednesday when/if we can all decide on the right height.

Jeff's in the doghouse - literally! He's painting the inside so the puppies will be stylish, too.

The inside of the oven with the DVD.

The dishwasher - freestanding at the moment.

When I got home yesterday, Phil's cat. Qubit, was pretending to be ??? in the kitchen closet. He is one gorgeous cat, and, being a typical cat, knows it.

I'm not sure how much will happen in the next few days. Jeff is meeting with various fence companies, and I have an entryway light to exchange. The patio people are the hold-up for the outside. When they finish, the sod will go in, and then the fence, and then any landscaping. The plan is for the hardwood to be installed at the end of this week. Once that happens, the powder room can be finished, refrigerator(s) arrive, and the painters put on finishing coats. The "closet guy" isn't finished (hardly started), one shower head is discontinued so they're trying to figure out what to do (we ordered it in July and already it's discontinued???), the laundry room sink is back ordered (????), the garage floor gets coated, and, after we get the CO, the porch will be enclosed. When I write it all out, I realize we are really getting close to the end. Maybe another 6 weeks? We head to Florida on Friday for Jeff's NAVC in Orlando and then to Jensen Beach to visit with Jeff's brothers. After that, it's going to be pack, pack, pack.

Stay tuned for the continuing saga of Jeff & Sherry's Great Housebuilding Adventure.

Thanks for tuning in!
